Tory Oliver Letwin holds Dorset West

Conservative Oliver Letwin has retained his seat in West Dorset which he has held since 1997.

Running in his fifth General Election, Letwin beat fellow candidates to the post, including Liberal Democrat Ros Kayes, Labour’s Rachel Rogers, UKIP’s David Glossop and Peter Barton of the Green Party.

Letwin was the Minister for Government Policy in the cabinet office in 2010.

Tories count was 28,329

Liberal Democrats count was 12199

Labour count was 5633

UKIP count was 7055

Greens count was 3242

West Dorset has only ever elected Conservative MPs since it was created in 1885. The area includes the county town of Dorset, Dorchester and the towns of Bridport, Lyme Regis, Beaminster and Sherborne.
