Robert Syms holds Poole for Conservatives

Robert Syms continues his hold on Poole for the Conservatives, receiving over 23,700  votes.

Mr Syms first won the seat in 1997 and has retained it at every election since then.

The constituency has elected a Conservative MP every election since its modern incarnation in 1950.

The constituency broadly includes Poole Town, Canford Cliffs, Sandbanks, Hamsworthy and Parkstone.

It is home of some of the wealthiest individuals in the UK with the Sandsbanks peninsula dubbed ‘Millionaires’ Row’.

Conservative’s count came in at 23,745

Labour came in at 6,102

Liberal Democrats came in at 5,572

The Green Party’s count was 2,198

UKIP’s count came in at 7,956

The Party for Poole People Ltd. came in at 1,766

Independent Ian Northover’s count came in at 54
