Ed Miliband has given his last speech before voting commences tomorrow.
Talking in Leeds, the impassioned Labour leader made an appeal for working people to use their “power” and their vote tomorrow.
He also hit out at Tory policies, with zero hour contracts and extreme cuts the focus of his criticism.
Of the Conservative leader David Cameron, he said: “We know he’s planning to double the cuts next year. The most extreme cuts from a political party for a generation.”
“We’ll reward hard work,” he said, “We believe in security at work. We’ll ban zero hours contracts, if you do regular hours in a Labour Britain you get a regular contract.”
As a major part of Labour’s campaign, this is a message that has been well rehearsed.
On turning his attention to the campaign he described himself as “incredibly proud of this campaign”.
In backing up his stance in the well published Russell Brand interview he reinforced the message delivered that day, that the people, along with politicians have the “power” to change things.
“This has been the biggest people-driven campaign in history,” he said.
In a plea to the electorate to consider just how important every vote could potentially be, he highlighted how fine margins may be, saying: “A few votes in a few seats could define the next five years.
“Tomorrow you have the power to make Britain work for working people once again.”
The opposing ideas of Labour and the Tories was a topic Mr Miliband was key to outline and criticised the Tories for focusing on the wealthy.
He finished the speech with a simple message: “Use your vote. Use your vote to vote for Labour and together we can put working families first.”
