In tonight’s live debate, immigration, employment and welfare cuts were among several topics raised by Jeremy Paxman.
However, one that Mr Paxman failed to mention was the NHS in his Q&A with the Prime Minister.
The task was instead left to the audience question round.
Audience member, Karen Poole asked Mr Cameron: “Would you like to see more NHS services provided by private companies?”
The Prime Minister said: “I am happy if there are charities or independent organisations that can provide a great service free as part of the NHS.
“If it’s good healthcare that’s what matters to me.”
Many were left angry at Paxman’s failure to raise questions regarding the health service, taking to Twitter to voice their concern.
Completely shocked that Paxman did not question Cameron about #NHS. Credibility of this Q&A is already in question #BattleForNumber10

This is why we needed a head-to-head debate. Paxman missed out the NHS and the audience were just way too soft on Cameron #BattleForNumber10

#newsnight going nowhere tonight…? A real shame because NHS debate is an important one. Paxman should maybe stick to #universitychallenge?
