Poole count to be declared at 3am

May 7, 2015 by Naomi Mihara Leave a Comment

The count for Poole constituency is set to be announced at 3am, according to Your Election 15’s reporter Jason Lewis who is at the Lighthouse.

He said: “At the Lighthouse the sense of excitement is on the rise as the counters frenetically sort through the masses of ballot papers. Candidates from all parties and both constituencies are looking on with interest to try and get an inclination as to the way the vote is going.

The Counting Arena is split in two with the Poole constituency count on one side and the key marginal Mid Dorset and North Poole on the other side, with a metal fence separating then.

The declaration is believed to be coming at around 3am according to returning officer, Paul Morris. Until then it is a case of sitting back as the counters continue their job of wading through the ballot slips.”
