With results piling in, the Scottish National Party are seeing a surge in the number of seats they hold, with huge swings throughout Scotland.
The SNP currently sit with 28 seats, with every other party with none.
SNP gain Kilmarnock and Loudoun from Scottish Labour. The constituency saw a 26% swing from Labour, where the party have been in power since 1929.
Cathy Jamieson, a Shadow Treasury Minister, has lost her Kilmarnock and Loudon seat to the SNP’s Alan Brown. With a majority of 13,638, he easily overturned her majority of 12,378 from the 2010 election. A huge swing for SNP.
SNP gain Paisley and Renfrewshire South from Labour’s Douglas Alexander. 20 year old student, Mhairi Black, won with an astounding 27% swing from Labour, it having been held for eighteen years by Labour’s Douglas Alexander. Black is thought to be the youngest MP to be elected since 1667. Douglas has described it as a “very difficult night” for Labour”.

SNP gain Falkirk from Scottish Labour
SNP gain Glenrothes from Scottish Labour – 35% swing from labour
SNP gain East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow from Labour
SNP gain Motherwell and Wishaw from Labour
SNP gain Midlothian from Labour
SNP gain Dunbartonshire East from Lib Dems
