Cameron holds his seat in Witney, and reflects back to VE day.

Despite his victory, he went on to state that it is “too early to say what sort of result will come at the end of the election campaign”.

Conservative count comes in at: 35, 201

Wessex regionalist count comes in at: 110

Labour count comes in at: 10, 046

Liberal Democrat’s count comes in at: 3,953

Independent Nathan Handley count comes in: 12

Land Party count comes in: 35

Green Party count comes in: 2,970

National Health Action Party count comes in: 616

Reduce VAT in sport count comes in: 56

Give me back Elmo count comes in: 37

UKIP count comes in: 5,352

Independent Christopher Thomas count count comes in: 94
