Scottish Labour Party leader Jim Murphy has lost his seat to the Scottish National Party.
Murphy wished successor Kirsten Oswald well in serving Renfrewshire East. He congratulated the SNP on results so far, but added that it must show more “responsibility” with its greater representation in Parliament.
“The fightback starts tomorrow”, he added.
SNP count was 23013
Labour count was 19295
Conservative count was 12465
Liberal Democrat count was 1069
UKIP count was 888
The seat has been a Labour seat since 1997.
